Greek-Nationals wake up to Genocide in the East, as Greek-Americans continue
to remain silent
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 28th, 2014
On September 10th, all walks of life from Clergy to Academics,
gathered at the National War Museum of Athens in order to learn more about the
ongoing Genocide of Christians in the East. Organized by the Greek Association
“Friends of the Nation Tamatos”. The event lasted four hours, and had such notable
speakers as Nigerian-American Phil-Hellene Dr. Sam Chekwas, and the President
of the Antiochian Greek Levant Party Rodrigue el-Khoury.
This ground breaking event comes at a time when Greek-America, with the
exception of HALC, continues to remain silent over the suffering of the
Antiochian Greek people. In fact, members of the Hellenic Caucus, such as
Republican Gus Bilirakis, and Democrat Timothy Bishop have even voted ‘yes’ to
arming and training the very “moderate” rebels who are committing atrocities
against the Antiochian Greeks of Syria.
For the past year, we at Operation Antioch have continually held the
position that there are no such thing as “moderate” rebels in Syria. A fact,
that Western Media outlets are having a harder time concealing from the public
since U.S. air strikes began. Especially now that these so-called ‘moderates’
are up in arms because of U.S. intervention. Warning that U.S. strikes against
al-Qaeda’s Jabhat al-Nusra is doing “serious damage to moderate rebels”.

We, at Operation Antioch, urge Greek-Americans to follow the example of
the “Friends of the Nation Tamatos”, and listen to the words of Mr. Khoury. “If
you do not move to help your brothers in the East, you will soon find
terrorists in Athens”. With ISIL already claiming territory aspirations on both
Greece and Cyprus, when will the aging Greek-American leadership finally take
their heads out of the sand?
